Resilience Fund announces Climate Fund in London

In recognition of the role that early-stage venture capital firm, Resilience Fund, has in fighting the effects of climate change, the fund’s co-founders and general partners, David Hertz, Mike Siegel, and Mark Arnold, have been exclusively invited to attend the 3rd Annual Climate Investment Summit at the London Stock Exchange on June 28. While participating in the Climate Investment Summit, the firm’s co-founders are also announcing the forming of the firm’s new Resilience Fund for Advancing Climate Technologies.

Resilience Fund plays a critical role in directing capital to technology startups that have the promise of accelerating climate solutions. Building on the multi-decade experience of its founding general partners, Resilience Fund is actively evaluating and investing in innovative startups addressing the threats of climate change across four integratable sectors: Water, Food, Energy, and Carbon Transformation.

While at the Climate Investment Summit, Resilience Fund co-founders Mr. Hertz, Mr. Siegel, and Mr. Arnold will be creating partnerships with investors and investment managers who are deploying capital into solutions to address the climate crises. Joining the general partners in Resilience Fund is a global and diverse Board of Advisors that guides investment decisions and assists in mentoring of the fund’s portfolio companies.

“We are founding the Resilience Fund on the principle that solutions to the world’s most challenging environmental and social problems are also the world's biggest opportunities,” said Resilience Fund co-founder and general partner David Hertz.

About Climate Investment Summit

Climate Investment Summit is a key event in the Climate Investment Coalition’s roadmap to COP27. The Climate Investment Coalition (CIC) catalyzes real investments for clean energy and climate solutions and creates a direct and immediate impact on capital markets in line with Paris Agreement goals.

At COP26 in Glasgow, the Climate Investment Coalition supported the mobilization and announcement of a collective Nordic and UK pension fund commitment of US$130 billion. This notable announcement was made by 41 pension funds - announced by Nordic Heads of State and Government and CEOs of Nordic and UK pension funds. The commitments are to be invested in clean energy and climate by 2030 and reported on annually.

Now in its third year, CIC does precisely what is required for change in capital allocation at scale: it works with leading high-level public and private sector stakeholders in climate finance, public sector and project developers, to raise ready-to-invest, climate capital commitments.

About Resilience Fund for Advancing Climate Technologies

The Resilience Fund comprises individuals with decades-long experience leading across an array of fields with unique qualifications for successfully identifying, evaluating, investing in, and mentoring a new generation of climate technology entrepreneurs. The Resilience Fund moves beyond sustainability into the resilience imperative, recognizing that the climate has already changed and as a species we must adapt to this reality while continuously seeking to restore our ecology and atmosphere to pre-Industrial Era levels. To do so effectively requires massive scale, and advances cannot sacrifice economic progress.

The Resilience Fund discerns a new generation of climate tech companies with potential to affect our planet’s ability to generate massive expected increases in food, water and energy over the coming decades. Further, startup companies are replacing carbon intensive industry processes with methods and products that are not only greener, but also better, faster, or cheaper. Some of these companies offer truly exceptional potential to impact climate change. Not surprisingly, future financial performance of these companies closely mirrors the global reach and scale that their advancements can achieve.
